You will find the landscape ideal for wandering, hiking, jogging, skiing, biking and riding, even for children and elderly  people.
The region is wellknown by skifans, because you will find snow on the hills still in April. While spring already has come down in Blauenthal, skiing is possible a 400m higher up in the hills, round the Auersberg. 

Only 5 minutes by foot and you will  admire Saxonias highest and quite mystical waterfall.

The village of Blauenthal, only 150m distance to the B 283, lies in a romantic valley  at the foot of the Auersberg which is 1019m high.

A lot of hiking routes cross Blauenthal or start here. The village is surrounded by widespreaded forests, lovely valleys and  lakes.
